The simplest way to start swaging slugs: a fixed-weight kit for testing grain weights in your gun before moving up to a SlugMaster or a Freedom Press. One of the most accurate and repeatable systems for weight, with each slug within 2 grains.
- Slug diameter: .2185″ (5.549 mm), ±0.005 mm
- Weights: 23, 25, 27, 30, 34, 38 grains. The kit makes one fixed weight; add more weights with additional weight inserts
- Nose: hollow point; dimple nose + hollow point as an option
- Base: flat base punch included; a second punch (dish base, pellet base, deep taper, shallow taper) as an option
- Press: 2-ton press. Kit size: 26 mm across and 91 mm tall; needs a press opening of at least 125 mm
- You need: Lead wire one calibre smaller than the slug, lube such as WD-40, and a press
- Material: Tool steel, hardened to 50–52 HRC
